Y’all are cutting HBCU funding, dismantling civil rights offices, slashing Medicaid and SNAP, over-policing Black communities—yet want us to believe you’re helping poor Black people?

I think the response to seeing these weapons deployed by ICE while they’ve been in use for policing, even at schools, is an excellent demonstration of how effectively policing is propagandized here in the US.
In early August, ICE revealed plans to purchase $20 million worth of electric-shock gloves.

Police departments, jails, and even school resource officers across the country have used the gloves for years—though human rights groups like Amnesty International say they’re “readily misused for torture.”
Cops love ICE's new shock gloves. Parents want them out of schools.
Omaha requested 40 pairs of the gloves for just under $66,000 in 2025.

I've been studying the history of US, and indeed, global policing my whole career and I can't make it more clear to law makers that this isn't a bastardization of policing, it is its purest form and logical conclusion. The impunity, militarization, deference, legitimacy, racial targeting, etc.

the ground for these types of shootings was paved through regular US policing.

Most of us really don’t understand the trajectory we are on. The government is policing speech. Certain opinions are going to seemed illegal. That’s the glide path toward policing virtually anything.

Trump loyalist Kristi Noem asked to resign for violating the constitution, the US Congress hasn't taken stronger steps towards policing Trump regime loyalists, due to GOP collaborators, but this is a start.

Amazing how many British policing scandals seem to boil down to "What do you expect us to do? Our jobs?"
When asked why British police screwed up the Andrew Tate case so badly, a "detective blamed the malfeasance on 'overworked, overstretched' officers who failed to take the women’s allegations seriously, partly because two of them were sex workers."
Andrew Tate’s Empire of Abuse
How the defining figure of the manosphere built a fortune—and became a political force—by systematically exploiting women.

one of the reasons why UK policing is much better than US policing is because the most isolated and rural of police officers is part of a hierarchy of centralized responsibility

This week’s special guest @mollyjongfast.bsky.social on Harvard and the other US universities pushing back on Trump’s thought policing.
Molly Jong-Fast: “I'm going to respectfully push back on this. This is thought policing 101. This is not okay. They are using anti-antisemitism as a cloak. This is about targeting speech. It has nothing to do with anti-antisemitism and everything to do with authoritarianism.”

do people not realize that the past four decades of US policing legislation PR and practice have made the allegation that someone is a “gang member” entirely subject to the whims of the state

Policing is violence on an unfathomable scale in the US: “Police in the US use force on at least 300,000 people each year, injuring an estimated 100,000 of them”
Meanwhile, police departments continue to kill on average around 1,200 per year, or over 3 people per day, with many agencies reporting an increase in use of force since the George Floyd uprising. www.theguardian.com/us-news/arti...

A president of the United States is there to serve us. All public servants--by the very name--are there to serve us, the public. Local police are there to serve us--and by extension, federal policing agents are there to serve us. Let's not forget that when we see all these people working against us.

Once again, another policing issue appears to boil down to "What do you expect us to do, our jobs?"
7 years ago, when Extinction Rebellion threatened to fly drones to shut down Heathrow Airport, the police rightfully intervened and said:

"The airport is part of our national infrastructure, and we will not allow the illegal activity of protesters to cause disruption and misery to thousands."

The US attorney in DC is policing what people say about Elon Musk and grandstanding about the Associated Press but in no rush to arrest someone for assault

Y’all policing dumb jokes like this is why people hate us as humorless scolds. thank you for your attention to this matter!
Need to get pregnant and down 40 Tylenol a day so my kid can organize all my baseball cards and pokemon go accounts.

De-policing your thoughts includes recognizing when you're policing the potential guilt and suitable punishment of people with whom you have no relationship. Society has enabled us to judge people who share no community or communion with us. We are still unpacking how unhealthy it is for us all.

Policing "what is a woman" will police us all.
It may be hard for some to accept, but the truth is the fate of all women is inherently tied to the fate of trans women.
November 27, 2024 at 7:53 PM
the MOMENT you start policing people's transition reasons you have given evil something it will weaponize against us. we can have full bodily autonomy or eventually have all of it taken from us.

Why is everyone policing what others say about Kirk, we're just practicing a lack of empathy, just like he would've wanted us to

Policing will not free us.
Prepare for the racial profiling as students celebrate becoming alums!! 😒
Evidently Barnard students have been told they might be checked for “inappropriate” clothing. 😱

The most corrupt president in US history is policing conflicts of interest for the billionaire donor who he's allowed to take over key government functions.

What could go wrong?
COLLINS: Are you personally checking to make sure Elon has no conflicts of interest?

TRUMP: Yeah, I am

COLLINS: He answers to you

TRUMP: Sure
