A lesser-known #ColdWar fact is that small French, British, and US military missions operated in East Germany by treaty to monitor military activity. The Soviets had the same in West Germany.

Sometimes I think about how the USMLM spent the late 60s driving around East Germany in Ford police interceptors with a 7L V8 that made as much power as an entire platoon of BRDMs. It really doesn't seem fair.
