its almost the same as religious faith. yes, sometimes people convert but honestly its very rare. trying to convince a fox diehard to see reality is like going into an ultraorthodox church and believing you can convince them to be another faith or atheist just by talking at them real hard. useless.

They have an entire intricate worldview supporting their beliefs. They are as likely to go to your side as you are to theirs

probably relevant to note that the arson attack on the Adass Israel Synagogue is not the first time it has been subjected to an arson attack. In 1995 it was severely damaged in deliberate arson. Also the congregation is conservative ultraorthodox who are against Israels genocide

It's not true with American car culture, and it isn't true with European "anti-AC" culture.
This all makes me want to become an ultraorthodox "base-superstructure" Marxist (instead of an unorthodox "did you know that in Marx the base isn't just economy" one)

Orthodox politics in Brooklyn is really unique and specific. I tend to describe the political blocs in places like Boro Park where this guy is most active as "ultraorthodox." Many are haredi. They are very different from the modern Orthodox more common all over the country.
It may also be unwise to envision orthodox Jewish as one thing. I have friends who are "secular orthodox." Their background is orthodox, their practice is rigorous, but they're not living in an orthodox universe. Their friends may assume they're conservative or reform...
