My background is in events. I’ve worked plenty of military races and expos. The soldiers are usually voluntold to help with the event itself, but I’ve never, ever seen someone in uniform doing promo for a sponsors product.

Some stores have event coordinators who do this all the time and have plenty of practice. Some have volunteers. Some have unhappy employees who got voluntold to do the job.

As someone whose 11.5 nephew has voluntold me I’m running “D&D” for him while I’m in DC, I appreciate Evan’s sneaky success in following the spirit and not the letter of the request…
I ran my "D&D" Dragon Slayers campaign last night for a growing group of (now) 7 boys, aged 9 through 11.
