I call this gang the "Frying Pan Five" 😂 Northern Lapwings (Vanellus vanellus) in flight. They start gathering in large flocks and that's the time to look for rare Sociable Plovers among them. Most Sociable Lapwings show up in October. #BirdingHungary #waders #shorebirds #WaderWednesday #lapwings

A Wilson’s Snipe, quietly hanging out by the canal at Ridgefield NWR this week. Almost in Borb territory with that stocky little body. A snipe's eyes are set remarkably far back and high on the sides of its head, giving the bird a nearly 360-degree field of vision.
