Resistance was the watchword of the first Trump Administration and defiance is the watchword of the second.

“the presumption of vindictiveness” is a good watchword for the doj in this era
“Because the presumption of vindictiveness remains unrebutted, the indictment must be dismissed,” Judge Waverly Crenshaw wrote.

Affordability is our watchword in Illinois — and the bills I signed today are another step toward quality and affordable health care for all.

Here in our state, we're empowering the stakeholders that matter: patients and their providers.

This is why it was almost natural for them to take a watchword born out of the Black vernacular and only hear a risible pejorative.

2/ and can lead to long term disability. This is not theoretical. I have a close friend who is permanently and severely debilitated from what was initially a relatively mild case of Covid. The purported watchword for these malevolent clowns was choice. This isn’t choice. It’s using state …

Lab leak people have always been my “this person is not to be taken seriously” watchword
I have been getting a surprising number of questions about CIA's low-confidence announcement that they believe SARS-CoV-2 came from a lab.

A few comments in 🧵, but to summarize:

1️⃣ No new intelligence
2️⃣ No new report
3️⃣ No evidence exist to support SARS-CoV-2 came from lab
4️⃣ Usual nonsense

Caring about other people is great and everyone should do it but that’s just empathy. I think it’s useful to think about why a watchword among Black people is only palatable as a mocking epithet or sunny signal of virtue.

Massive nonviolent noncompliance is the watchword.

But they doesn't mean you need to organize 1 million people. You organize five, someone else organizes another five, someone else organizes ANOTHER five...
Re-upping these two posts.

It doesn’t take many of us disobeying to become ungovernable.

But if A LOT of us disobey in many, small ways, constantly, we can guarantee that we’ll be ungovernable.

It’s wild how “woke” became a watchword for white people across the world
Yes, god help we risk a floundering government that feels like no one is in charge.

My chosen watchword for 2024 was "redundancy."

As in, my primary focus was creating it in my life.

Especially after the election.
I think in a world revolutionized by “just-in-time” manufacturing, where militaries are infatuated with lean corporate structures and an ethos of ”agile, disruptive innovation“, we give far too little attention to the virtues of excess, and not obsessively trying to trim every bit of fat.
