Hey your new #WeatherBingo word for the day - #MeteoTsunami

I will say, saying "canicule" is more fun than saying heatwave.

I think we should revisit the english terminology.

That's a good #WeatherBingo word: Evapotranspiration! #mnwx
We have a hill down the road we call HURRICANE HILL, and it sits directly on the border of the Des Moines Lobe - the beginning of the Driftless Region - so you get this AWESOME view looking west over Rice County and the rest of the state.

We always see EVAPOTRANSPIRATION here. #mnwx

Another #WeatherBingo term dropped by Cody on @fox9mn.bsky.social: #CrepuscularRays! Spectacular sunbeams that appear to radiate from the sun when it is hidden behind clouds or mountains, typically at sunrise or sunset. We get a two-fer on the #WeatherBingo board this morning

Cody the weather guy on @fox9mn.bsky.social dropping a super cool #WeatherBingo word: #UndulatusAsperatus, a distinct, rare cloud formation characterized by well-defined, wave-like structures on the underside of the cloud, creating a turbulent, chaotic, or "roughened" sea appearance. ☁️💨

How to tell when you’re in an Arctic airmass? One way: when the highest temperature in the atmosphere is more than a mile above your head. Fairbanks upper air observation from Wednesday morning showing the temperature at 6200 ft MSL 37ºF higher than at the ground. #akwx @heatwavekgns.bsky.social

#WeatherBingo alert!!! Add #AtmosphericRiver to your Board! #mnwx
If you live in the West, you’re likely to see the words “atmospheric river” pop up in the forecast over the next several days.

This is not a new term; in fact it was coined in 1994!

But what is an atmospheric river, and what weather hazards can you expect? Meteorologist Haley Thiem explains.

New term for your #WeatherBingo board! #WallofWindShear
Watch this! A wall of impenetrable wind shear across the SE builds/ intensifies even further south, suppressing our Caribbean system, squeezing it into a corner. This is likely a saving grace for FL. System will be flattened & forced west or east, unless it’s able to wait out long enough.
