#Weaveworks
In this month's Developer Spotlight, I spoke with Somtochi Onyekwere from Fly for The Consensus.

She's contributed to Kubernetes itself, Kubernetes projects at Weaveworks, and now works on distributed databases at Fly.

There is no paywall, I hope you enjoy hearing from her!

A 45-minute production outage at Weaveworks changed how we deploy software forever

We just released the 1st episode of "The Making of Flux," a four–part KubeFM original series on Flux

Honestly, OCI is the only way to do GitOps. I always wished WeaveWorks called it CommitOps, because I think it translates better.

OCI is the piece that handles distribution, commits handle transitions.

Also makes it even viable with a monorepo, which is important to me too.

A new AI review! weaveworks/weave-gitops ⭐3.6/5.0
Weave GitOps is a sizeable, actively maintained GitOps “developer platform” built around Flux, combining a Kubernetes in-cluster server, a CLI, Helm charts, and a React-based UI.

Former weaveworks folks working tryhelix.ai to enable this. They are still pretty early but I liked what I heard when I chatted with them at Kubecon EU

Feeling a bit of a nostalgia for the days when I joined a Kubernetes slack and it was just a few thousands in 2015… I also recall observing how fast it was growing and making a case to Weaveworks leadership.
Anyone remember the #google-containers (did I get the name right?) channel on Freenode?

Eksctl is a standalone tool for managing Elastic Kubernetes Service (EKS) clusters on AWS that was created by Weaveworks. It is not an in-house AWS tool but they do offer instructions and support on using it. (2/3)
