hmm should i do webpush notifications for leaflet if you get the PWA? honestly just kinda personally want it, but they were soo annoying when I worked with them a couple years ago

@grosser_mensch That is coming! It requires significant refactoring on our side to handle this though!
A cool side effect of this is: webpush.
You will be able to use the new Pixelfed webUI as a PWA with push notifications via webPush!

huh. spacedust + webpush is enough faster than bluesky's notification delivery that i have to reload the bsky notification page a few times waiting for bsky to catch up.
(i know bsky does a lot of anti-spam filtering stuff in the time you wait)

PWAs only really work in Google Chrome unfortunately.
But ServiceWorkers, and WebPush are well supported, and that's a lot of what an "App" needs.

Instead of asking for folks' email addresses, maybe you can use Chrome's Notifications or Firefox's WebPush features.
