There is a wonderful trick and a nostalgic childhood play thing; that's well-known to people who live in subtropical areas around the world: Take a leaf off a Jatropha plant, snap its stem and blow. If you're lucky, you'll be treated with a handful of bubbles. The tree's unique milky sap contains up to 40% oil, creating the perfect sticky substance for maximum bubble creation. (Jatropha Curcas is a species of deciduous small tree or shrub kind of flowering plant, originally native to the tropical areas of the Americas from Mexico to Argentina, and has been spread throughout the world in tropical and subtropical regions becoming naturalised or invasive in many areas. It’s a plant with potential for biodiesel production and medicinal uses as well. It has a thin crown, milky sap, small and yellowish-green flowers, and yellow capsule fruit. It’s common name includes, Barbados nut, poison nut, bubble bush or purging nut. The name “Jatropha” derived from the Greek words ‘Jatro’ meaning “Physician” and ‘Pha’ meaning “Nutrition”; so it’s also known as Physic Nut. In parts of Africa and areas in Asia such as India it is often known as "Hedge castor oil plant"; (not the same as the usual castor oil plant.) The seeds are high in oil content (27–40%), that can be processed to produce a high-quality biodiesel fuel, usable in a standard Diesel engine. The plant is widely cultivated in the tropics as a living fence in fields and settlements. It is highly used for various medicinal uses globally.
