Don’t mind me, I’m just sketching out a cover for WitchNun - Lust. This one is about a vampire but is only coming out in June, I planned a busy schedule, so I take opportunities to sketch a bit after a nice chaotic move and job hooking

Everything in the Dark Forest for my WitchNun series
It is a forbidden place as any incursion could unleash an attack by creatures and demons to the surrounding kingdoms.

But many mercenaries and adventurers are willing to go into it for unique items, plants, creatures and many more unknown

I love this scene so much

Im doing a quick edit to my epic romantasy WitchNun Seraphim and I love the weight of Wye’s words

“… And about me?” She adds. “I give no ears to murmurs and gossip my lady, and I pay attention to the actions of all. All I know is that there is a familiar feeling that you bring, one I have been blessed to receive.” And he bows at her. “Warriors obey them,” Says Wye ”but they listen to you. Why haven’t you claimed your place inside these halls?” “I was a slave my lady, and I won’t let myself be bound by words spoken with fearful breath. I rather live without a roof and search for those who have been forgotten.” “You will die one day Baerthos,” She says “be sure to bring a kingdom down with you.” “I will my lady.”

“For you always lady Pyllya, did you brought a ride? I can put it in the stable.” “Praetor sleeps in the forest,” She says looking back ”he’s more comfortable there.” By the edge of the Dark Forest, hiding in a crevice of a boulder mountain, Praetor’s ears twitch, his dark eyes closing as he calmly falls asleep. Pyllya enters the building and heads towards the bar to grab a jar and place the flowers. A couple mercenaries stand up and leave the place as quietly as they can, carefully putting coins on their table to pay for their drinks. “I got news there was a call.” She says to the innkeeper. “Yes, seems everyone and else has been brought, too many wrong faces in town. Here, it’s the door in the fifth floor.” And gives Pyllya a key. “The attic? But those are your quarters…” “It’s the only one with a shower, not like these people need one. I’ll stay here at the bar, the call will keep me busy and if I get tired I’ll sleep here, too many new faces I tell you.” “Thank you.” She says and swiftly goes up the stairs without making a sound, her white boots don’t have heels and run smoothly all the way up to her mid thighs. She stands fora second in front of the bedroom door and starts to hear people scrambling out of their rooms below and paying up. She sighs deeply and unlocks the door, she will rest for now as tomorrow will be a very long day. Outside the inn several mercenaries seem upset as they continue to stuff their bags while leaving. “Why did we left the inn? Who was that?” A young warrior asks to one of his crew. “That’s the Seraphim.” Whispers one. “When an angel falls to earth, the beast itself will come after it.” Says another. “Shouldn't we help?” Says the young one. “Yeah, get out of her path…” Why does everyone acts strange around that girl?” asks a young squire at the hall, after seeing the crowd’s reaction at Pyllya passing by. “That girl is The Seraphim.” Replies a stout tall bearded warrior. “The lost Dove.” Says an old nobleman with a mean tone. “You mean like the assassins?” Asks the squire. “That’s not a term for them,” Says the warrior “be respectful when you talk about the Messenger Doves—” “The muses of death…” Says the nobleman. But the warrior continues. “—It might be the last thing you say…” “Why do they call them like that?” Asks the young squire. “Death is so amused by them it never leaves their side.” Says the nobleman. “They take peace wherever they trail.” Replies the warrior. “Peace meaning everyone is calm or everyone is dead.” Says the nobleman.

I unearthed it like a fossil (like King suggests) my story started with a meetup in the main building in an important location so RockSiege was born. Then I added the Hostels, market and the doves tower. On my second novella I talked about the other buildings and then it was complete
RockSiege Citadel Sitting on the base of a mountain in a moonshaped crater, there is a market at the front with hostels and barracks. The citadel is round it has the stronghold at the center two towers at 10 and 2 o clock and a building with a garden at 12 see more at https://noomue.itch.io/witchnun-seraphim

all kinds of magic exist but many are hidden. The warlocks have a kingdom and roam free
Magical creatures exist, many of them in the dark forest so they are avoided
But witches and healers are rare, powerful, feared and hunted

Open wounds Rumble and roar goes the thunder She looks like an angel, but they call her the Seraphim because she’s the only glimpse of light after the darkness has been slayed. An angel of destruction, the only one to ever survive. The beautiful warrior limps outside the northern ridge of the Dark Forest, the salty sea breeze poking on her wounds. Her left arm is covered in a pearly white armor, held tight against her torso, the silky white blouse soaked in bright red blood. With short steps she drags herself along the rocky edge of the northern cliffs, where giant stone pillars meet the sea. The rapier sword falls from her grasp, no longer able to hold it and the long thin blade makes a faint ding that awakens something in the caves up ahead, the sound of galloping claws grows warning of its approach. Her long white hair flows in the wind and she groans as she lifts her arm to cover her face, her ruby red eyes set on a cave where from the darkness a winged beast emerges, a bat as big as a house crawling towards her, its giant wings flap like sails as they catch the sea breeze, its claws strike the rocks at a quickening pace. “No…no…” Begs the maiden in a weak whisper. The beast shows its giant fangs as it reaches her and dives at her chest with a quick strike, and as the beast tries to lift the warrior she cries, “No! Agh! Stop it! Stop it! I’m ok! I’m ok…” her right hand patting the beast’s neck, her left arm still tight against her wound. “Put me down, put me down,” She says as the beast holds her by her breastplate, and slowly lowers her as she gasps in pain, “it’s ok, it’s ok, I can make it.” she adds and the beast rests its head on her shoulder. “I’m ok, I’m ok.” She continues and holds firmly onto its neck. The winged beast carefully stands straight, lifting her from the ground so the warrior puts her feet inside the lower wing flaps, straddling the beast as it sniffs the blood on her hair. “I can make it,” She says “take me to the crystal caves.”

Commontongue is the language merchants used so it got spread through the realm. They all have their unique dialects but commontongue was so widely adopted that even the explorers used it to write their documents so everyone could build upon

Nothing clever, it's on the tin. Languages: just one? Several? Did it (or plural) evolve from another language in your world as something mutually intelligible or is it just a regional dialect?
