If you don’t know when the election is going to be, you can’t build a workback schedule. You would spend years campaigning and then just when you run out of money, boom! The government calls an election.

Also, I've been using the same workback schedule for about 10 years. Then only thing that's changed is the addition of @actioncookbook.bsky.social brussel sprout and apple salad, and I don't start drinking beer until much later in the day.

For sure, I agree. I think if you're the kind of dev that's like "i think we can get this done in 2 years, and I really want to do that because I might run out of money after that", then it's probably best to get structured. Whether that's task management or a simple workback schedule.

Negligently, I didn’t have “preschooler with a stomach virus” on my Thanksgiving workback calendar. But at the end of the day we had a lot of fun and got a nice meal on the table Thursday!
