Last October 5 to 7, 2026, we conducted a 3-day solar observation at the NEU Main Observatory. While cloudy weather provided some difficulty, we achieved our objective of capturing photos of the nearest star to our planet on the third day, in time for the #WorldSpaceWeek celebrations.

I was invited to write a short article for the @leverhulme.ac.uk newsletter out this month, and excitingly it was chosen to feature on the cover! Read about our work on exoplanet atmospheres and why clouds are kind of great, actually #WorldSpaceWeek 🪐🔭
By observing exoplanets with the largest telescopes on the ground and in space, Leverhulme Early Career Fellow, @bensutlieff.bsky.social @edinburgh-uni.bsky.social, seeks to understand the weather on these distant worlds and what this can tell us about their atmospheric diversity.

This was the first rocket launch at Cape Canaveral.

Cape Canaveral is the home of the Cape Canaveral Space Fore Station and next to the Kennedy Space Center, making it the US capital of rocket launches. But every legacy had to start somewhere. (1/3)
