Begging Guilds actually start allowing non affilates in under a different criteria.
Some of us choose to not affiliate for a plethora of reasons it sucks that were sidelined for it.

You join a local group that is a member, or form one if one does not exist. It is built on agreements between autonomous organisations.
There are other federations too, not just IWA

Browsing Bookshop.org @bookshop.org and it occured to me that some #selfpub / indie pub might not know they can add their books directly. #Authors can become affilates. And it supports small / indie bookstores. There's both a US and UK version.

I remember when this came on PBS!!! I had two PBS affiliates on my system, WHYY in Philly and WLVT in Allentown. PBS gave affilates their option to show it uncensored or censored (where Dede's breasts were digitized and the bad language censored). I watched it on WHYY.

Nowadays, I only hear Twitch doing stupid stuff for no reason. They are owned by Amazon, they could at least make the limit only for non-Affilates (I assume they don't exactly need many Highlights and they are basically ~90% of Twitch, that includes me btw) (2/3)

Yeah, But Paley caved into the Confederate CBS Affilates in the 60's over the Civil Rights Movement. Howard K Smith was reporting the truth about the violence of Jim Crow and Paley gave him the ultimatum.
Keeping those affiliates was more important to CBS than truth or equality. What about that?

I used to buy the Guardian & read it cover to cover every day. Then I subscribed & read most of it on line every day. Then I got tired of Owen Jones, Simon Jenkins, Adrian Chiles being prominent so halved my subscription. Then found more articles were "affilates". Then favourite writers left. Now?

This came out in 1973. Quite a few TV affilates (especially in the South) objected to Franklin being there at all. So this was the 'compromise' they reached; Franklin being on the other side from the others. I would submit it was an indictment of the climate of the times
