No, if you are talking about #glyphosate, I said that there is no evidence of risk at occupational or dietary exposures, the same conclusion of every international regulatory body over the last 50 years. Plus that graphic is alachlor, which is not sprayed on food. (And Monsanto has been gone 7 yrs)

And to further expand on the deceptiveness of that post-- Lasso is alachlor, which is a pre-emergent. It never comes in contact with food. These things are so deceptive and just conjure distrust in safe technologies to control weeds.

The herbicide atrazine has been found in rain — including at levels up to 26.9 ppm, which is >8X the legal US limit, or MCL!

Seems not great. The research showing this is not exactly new, and it's like, we (the US) just didn't act on it. 🧪

IARC's Cancer Warning: Atrazine, Alachlor, and Vinclozolin
In today's episode we're diving into the findings of the International Agency for Research on Cancer (IARC) Working Group, which evaluated the carcinogenicity of three common chemicals: atrazine, alachlor, and vinclozolin. A group of 22 scientists from 12 countries met to classify atrazine and alachlor as "probably carcinogenic to humans" (Group 2A), and vinclozolin as "possibly carcinogenic to humans" (Group 2B). We examine the evidence, including limited human links between atrazine and non-Hodgkin lymphoma (NHL) that is positive for the t(14;18) chromosomal translocation and a strong association between alachlor use and laryngeal cancer. Exposure is high for agricultural workers via inhalation and dermal absorption, but the general public is also exposed primarily through drinking water and foodstuffs. High‐Temperature Liquid Chromatography of Isomeric Organochlorine Herbicides and Their Degradation Products
ABSTRACT Alachlor, acetochlor, and metolachlor are organochlorine herbicides extensively used for weed control in agricultural practices, yet their use is prohibited within the European Union due to environmental and health concerns. These compounds and their degradation products exhibit high environmental persistence, necessitating reliable and rapid analytical methods for monitoring. Conventional reversed-phase liquid chromatography employing C18 columns is commonly utilized for their analysis. However, alkyl silica columns, and especially C18 columns, are not suitable for the effective separation of isomers, necessitating the integration of tandem mass spectrometry for enhanced analytical accuracy. This study explores the application of a porous graphitic carbon-based column to overcome these limitations. High-temperature chromatography enabled improved efficiency and selectivity in separating the target compounds. The influence of temperature, flow rate, pH, and mobile phase composition on the retention of alachlor, acetochlor, metolachlor, and their degradation products was systematically evaluated. A method suitable for separation and quantification of the herbicides was developed, highlighting the potential of porous graphitic carbon columns for robust and precise analysis in complex environmental matrices.
