“Our world isn’t ending. It already ended.” ~from @waub.bsky.social’s dystopian novel, Moon the Crusted, after a blackout occurs on an Anishnaabe reserve in Northern Ontario.
People keep comparing our time to the Nazis. We don’t. We, Natives, have seen this before, here in the U.S.: Separation of families, prison camps, forced removals, aggressive raids, nationalism… Folks, it happened here. Google ‘the Trail of Tears’ and ‘Indian boarding schools.’ Learn a thing or two.

Thinking about Anishnaabe who support Isreal.

If that's their vision of #LandBack then Canada should be very concerned about them. It isn't my vision, but i don't support Isreal either.

I'm having my leftover anishnaabe risotto from Salmon n' Bannock for lunch. It's so good. Vancouver folks: 10/10 would recommend. The food, drinks, service and artwork are all terrific. It's fully indigenous owned and operated, and the seasonal menu maximizes ingredients native to North America.

Moon of the Turning Leaves/ @waub.bsky.social/ In a dystopian future a remote Anishnaabe community realizes they must leave to survive. The novel tackles colonial legacy with quiet horror that slowly takes shape with the enduring violence of white settlers. Read it!
