a reminder that this is a near-perfect album that got lost in the success of golden hour’s AOTY win. just beautiful, funny, heartbreaking, folk music that’s in on its own joke; made for people who grew up in the kinda small towns they make fun of on tv. justice for pageant material!

So Róisín's still ragin', two years on. Guess petulantly alienating 90% of her fanbase over a Facebook conspiracy theory isn't the winning life strategy she thought it would be?

Oh look, another album that's AOTY material and that I wholeheartedly recommend! 👍👍
Our girl @allieinchains.bsky.social has been in the spotlight after rejoining power metal act Judicator, & it is so deserved. We celebrate her with a cassette edition of My Restless Temple, which takes as much influence from Symphonic Power Metal as it does from Gothic/Alternative rock.

AOTY material.
Functioning almost as a tribute to departed Editions Mego head Peter Rehberg, KMRU's latest pairs dissonance with resonance. It's our Album of the Day.

This beauty from Railcard is out next Friday and we can’t wait for you all the hear it! Brilliant soft/folk/garage pop from an ace group of indiepop lifers who have really knocked it out of the park here. AOTY material, supergroup or not.

I listened to Vince Staples for the first time ever with his new album Cry Baby & became an instant fan! First time hearing him was on @jidsv.bsky.social's VCRs off GDLU. I LOVE diving into a project blind & coming away with an AOTY contender. #crybaby youtu.be/D3X98KbL0mw

Unpopular(?) opinion: the new Boards Of Canada album isn’t AOTY material, and if you think it is, you may need to go out there and listen to more music in general.

This is AOTY material. Kele’s vocals and lyrics just really hit.
Bloc party’s new album is so queer. It’s making me happy. Also it’s just fantastic.

Done!
Okay. This is incredibly well mixed, beautifully written and masterfully performed.
It's full of a brightly shining darkness, glimmers of hope and couragous defiance, and it's now officially on my list of AOTY candidates!
Absolutely amazing, @jjlovegrove.bsky.social.
