When OptumRx dropped coverage of his $66 inhaler, Cole couldn’t afford the new price.
5 days later, he died from a severe asthma attack—with no inhaler.

When 22-year-old Cole Schmidtknecht tried to get a refill on his inhaler, the medication he needed had jumped from $70 to over $500.

So Cole couldn't get his medicine to prevent asthma attacks. Five days later he had a severe asthma attack and died.

Ozturk is now talking about her asthma diagnosis, and how she has experienced asthma attacks during her detention.

She has suffered approximately 9 attacks during her time in detention, she says.
