They are custom because an audiologist squirted goo into my ears to make a mold and then the company made silicone earplugs that only fit my ears.

I'm unclear where this will lead. I can't discern the spoken word with my left ear. It's not a hearing problem. It's the audiologist who ordered the test.

Since yesterday am I've arranged a number of appts: audiologist, dentist, doctors and flu jab, all before the end of October! That's as well as more pension, social services and care home stuff and helping my stepmum. What a whirlwind 2 days! Having a lay down now. To think I used to work!

I love my audiologist! She's fab. I've had a blocked ear for over two weeks so quick email earlier and have an appt for Thursday morning!

My audiologist told me something after I got my first cochlear implant that I think applies to most things, "Remember it's a marathon, not a race. You'll only be racing yourself to a goal that doesn't exist."

I just spent some time with my parents, who live out of state. It was nice to be able to help my dad with a few things around the house and help him get his hearing aids reprogrammed by his audiologist so that he can hear better.

our old audiologist doesn't work with people who have medi-cal or medicare, even if they are paying out of pocket, because there's complications about that which they don't want to deal with & liability.
so i just get to be functionally severely hard of hearing until the new molds come in.

i know the sound is going to be different, but i get orange! & the audiologist & i don't have to struggle for an hour to get the receiver seated in the canal.
in the interim, i don't get hearing aids to be able to use, unless i can find my spare wires to have one for the left ear.

My audiologist called me at 6pm on a Friday evening to book an appointment with me (so we can turn my aids down and I can bear to use them again!) tomorrow afternoon
