A Nissan Sentra weighs a little more than 3,000 pounds (I picked a small, common car)
An Aventon Level 3 E-bike weighs 67 pounds (plus rider weight)
These things do not pose remotely the same risk when traveling at 28 mph. I am begging people to understand basic physics.

Talking about perfect timing: Aventon launched an e-bike trade-in program last Friday. They are offering riders a $200 bonus when trading-in an e-bike, *including Rad Power Bikes*, toward a new Aventon. It appears that the trade-in credit might be able to be stacked with Black Friday deals as well

So, about that…
If I'm Tern, Xtracycle, Gazelle, Aventon, Velotric, Lectric, etc. I would be getting way ahead of this, lobbying and educating elected officials, working with advocacy groups, running PSAs, etc.

The @mplscargobikelibrary.com Aventon Abound has the most miles ridden so far (1,350). Last week it hit 100 hours ridden.
I think there’s something special in thinking about the car trips replaced, adventures had & memories our members made across those collective 100 hours.

I really like Aventon bikes, but they’ve clearly been paying influencer types who don’t actually ride bikes (or are new to bikes) to do their ads on Instagram.

One scam - a fake website supposedly selling new Aventon bicycles for 80% off, has websites debunking it as a scam. So how come Facebook's AI or humans can't just block non-official-Aventon scam sites? Another offers used cars for 80% off, claiming to sell repossessed cars. Also an obvious scam.
