My youngest, now grown, had a birthday party at BABW and let me tell you — it was a room full of preschool existential crises (and adult ones, too). People not in crisis aren’t buying roller skates for a stuffed bunny (though YOUR STUFFED BUNNY DESERVES THOSE SKATES!)

just woke up from a dream where I found a bunch of enstars mini figs for sale in a BABW that was going out of business, including a figure that was like, an "ex fine" Rei alongside his normal self, and a companion figure that was the rest of undead waiting for him with open arms

Classic Being a Better Writer: The Art of Misdirection
This moment was bound to come. For those not in the know, The Art of Misdirection is one of the more popular Being a Better Writer posts in the entire history of the site. So making it a Classic BaBW post almost feels ... superfluous? I suspect that if anything it'll just assure that this classic nod to it ends up one of the other more popular features on the site.

Ahh that sounds adorable! I tend to alter BABW shirts myself if it's for the plushies. 🤔 Let me know what you find! Maybe I can do a little "magic" to something you find. ✨💖✨

Misplaced my BABW Charmander last year and am now at the point where I'm tempted to just get another one off eBay... but *that* one also has sentimental value, so I also kinda feel stuck.

Classic Being a Better Writer: A Beginner’s Guide to Fights
Welcome back writers! No! Don't click away just because there's "Classic" in the title! This post is probably older than some of you are! Okay, quick summation: Classic Being a Better Writer posts are a glimpse back into yesteryear, a look at BaBW posts that were written long ago and now exist so far back in the archives that most people probably have never looked so deep.

Being a Better Writer: Standing Firm, Without Retreat
Welcome writers, to another installment of Being a Better Writer! Which today is a different sort of topic than we normally get. Sometimes we're very nuts and bolts with writing, such as when we discuss style, fight scenes, or character leitmotifs. But other times here on BaBW, we take a further step back and go more conceptual or wide-range, like when we talk about the importance of reading as a writer.

Editing on "Axtara - Armies and Accounting" today ran into another grey area (or is "gray"?) in the English language, which caused my mind to go back to this old BaBW post on the trouble with proper nouns in Sci-Fi and Fantasy. A fun look if you've not noticed it before.

Being a Better Writer: Don’t Trust the Slop
Welcome writers, to another installment of Being a Better Writer. Today we've got a hot and current topic to discuss, and we're basically going to dive right in. Yes, it's about AI. Not true AI, but those autogenerative machines that predict what the next word should be. And I already know that like prior times BaBW has discussed AI, this isn't going to be a topic that makes some people happy.

Decisions and Developments: Classic BaBW, Axtara 3, Patreon Stuff, and More
Sometimes a week's news post is pretty simple. Sometimes it's not. This week's post is one of the latter. There's a lot ahead, so buckle up. We start with Monday's Being a Better Writer post, and a decision about Being a Better Writer in general. Feedback to the idea of reposting old Being a Better Writer articles once a month has been unanimously positive.
