React vs Remix - Do we really want to move back to imperative re-renders?

As far as I remember, we already tried that

See, for example, this BackboneJS counter

Early in my career, I idolized developers like John Resig (jQuery) and Jeremy Ashkenas (BackboneJS & CoffeeScript), never imagining I could create developer tools myself.

Have used BackboneJS in the past.

"What's that one?"

BackboneJS.

"Oh, thank you for your sacrifice. And that one?"

Scriptaculous.

"What was that?"

JS animations before animations were really a thing.

Spent two hours trying to figure out what I wasn't seeing in this JS framework that I'd encountered for the first time today (BackboneJS via Marionette) and it's only now become clear to me that this data in the dev instance has always been blank and defaulted.

Frustration is an understatement.

@MWelch_WT We moved it to https://github.com/developerforce/MobilePack-BackboneJS/ - I'll go update the link in the blog post now - thanks for the heads up!

Ahhh, this makes a lot more sense! I already thought there was some kind of a plugin that turns BackboneJS into something more. 🙂

BackStopJS seems pretty nice; I'll have to try it out. Thanks for sharing it, Stuart! 🙏

Wow, that's interesting, Stuart. I didn't even know you could do this with BackboneJS. 🙂

My backbonejs routes feel like trying to compliment a chef by passing a note to a toddler who might see a waiter on the way to the restroom.

https://blog.backlift.com/entry/front-end-frameworks #Backbonejs / #angularjs combo isn't a surprise but I thought #emberjs would be a **little bit** more popular!

It’s BackboneJS, and then it all went up in ember(s)

Just cleaned out my Github, trashed about 150 repos... What a trip down memory lane... BackboneJS... AngularJS projects... Symfony... KnockoutJS... Lots of old projects and code I'll never need again... It's wild to see how far 10 years takes ya. 🤓

People criticize some technologies because it's cool to do so now.

But thanks to PHP, LAMP stack,
and jQuery, BackboneJs, Ember, AngularJS, and many other technologies, the web advanced at a brutal pace, and we learned a lot.

And behind those technologies there were and are people working so hard.
