An out of focus picture that is just a gradient of blue at the top going to grey-brown at the bottom. A faint white halo in the middle which was a Great Egret.

Spoonbill behind the reeds, not in front of them! It was too far away and this is cropped! 😶
Tracking a very distant Spoonbill as it flew left to right and took the picture as it hurtled behind the reeds. Tried to recover it by cropping. Fail.

I can't decide if this is a "bad" photo, but it's not what it could have been. I had been shooting this Pelican perched on one of those posts, and when it launched itself, I instinctively started panning without first rotating the camera. I'm not likely to get another chance this decade 🪶

First time I've ever spotted a Mississippi Kite "at rest". Medium sized raptor, perched in a very lushly leaved tree. Shot from a distance with a telephoto lens, so picture is already fuzzy. The only part of the bird visible is the tail feathers and butt.

Two adorable Pygmy Nuthatches huddle together on a branch in a snow storm It's windy and cold and they are floofing and staying warm together And even rubbing together! Before I managed to get my camera out and clicking, there were four birds all together like this! So....I also missed a 4 bird version! lol
