The Deskford Carnyx - the head of an Iron Age war trumpet shaped to represent a wild boar. The carnyx was found in 1816 at Deskford in Banffshire when digging for peat. Now part of the collections at the National Museum of Scotland in Edinburgh. 📸 My own. #FindsFriday

A slight improvement in the garden catch with rain keeping temperatures up a bit. Nine species included two New for Garden - Yellow-barred Brindle (also new for hectad) and Ancylis badiana.
