One of the earliest sauropods was the Indian Barapasaurus. Dating back ~190 million years, "the big-legged lizard" is known from partial remains of several individuals. At ~13 meters long, it was massive by early Jurassic standards, but would be dwarfed by later cousins. #paleoart by Mario Lanzas

Breaching the pentagenarian boundary. In late 2024, the VPD, carnotaurus, barapasaurus, and a fellow nocturnal skate fiend swung by to commemorate my final slappies of my 40s.
A few weeks later, slappy nosegrinds became my first trick of my 50s. I gratefully accept this gift from the skate gods.

After the yesterday I decided to reread The Illustrated Encyclopedia of Dinosaurs by Douglas Dixon, with pics by Andrew Robinson & David Johnston. It was the great part of my childhood, not only the book, but the bootleg toys based on these illustrations.
