My bichon who’s not interested in balls is also rescued—lived in a cage as a breeder for her first 6 years. She also doesn’t bark or wag her tail except while dreaming (which is adorable when it happens.

I wonder if there's differences between breeds, like hunting dogs loving balls more. My bichon frise seems to have no desire to play with a ball. We met a tiny poodle pup the other day who was so proud of the ball she carried everywhere.
