#birthrate
I mean, it is true that Ireland's population isn't growing quickly enough, but no one who loudly complains about the birthrate ever wants to hear the actual solution (more immigration)

obviously I Know Why but you never see people who chunter on about Britain being full propose birthrate limits, which rather suggests we aren't full at all
Reform pledge net emigration

Their own economic plan numbers included the cheat booking in raising an additional £8-10 billion/year from visa fees + new taxes on employing migrants, above current plans, which are absurd numbers, impossible to combine with a pledge of significant net emigration!

And people wonder why the birthrate is down. 🙄

The past few decades have had a virtual "Armageddon roulette" between nuclear war, overpopulation, Y2K, the turn of the millennium, the WMD panic, fears of runaway nanotech, Peak Oil, the 2012 phenomenon, climate change, birthrate decline, and the AI "singularity."

Declining birthrate is a non-issue.

Housing shortage reversed by low birthrate? Or political problem (anti-housing politics) solved by crisis & external threat? Both?

roughly two to fifteen childrens' souls per Tasky art, yes. that birthrate dip? all me, baby. sorry not sorry
I initially misunderstood and thought you need the souls of children and rats to draw Tasky and produce art.

Didn't see the quote at first, eh...

We will see...our future...China's aging society with a declining birthrate and economic slowdown..These bubble economy, like Japan's bubble economy. World War 2 and US dropped atomic bombs in Japan, but Japan became developed country. Aging society with a declining birthrate, horrible future.

That old fogey……ex Rotherham MP should not be allowed anywhere near young folk. He’s no role model.
Ever since Harriet Harman and Bliar blamed single mums for the economy. See birthrate decline. Blame those that can’t defend themselves tactic. Labour the party Bullying people.

And would that 0.25% of the population be a net benefit to the country? Did you consider that? If the country's GDP grew would we not invest in our public services and infrastructure? You seem to forget the 99.75% of the population is aging rapidly and the birthrate is falling. Be real.

Yeah, what annoys me is Brits out there actually believe this crap and some are getting wet over the whole "We also have less birthrate."

So that shit is popping up again.

there is a global trend towards women choosing to have fewer children, so I actually don't think that would increase the birthrate much. we should make it much easier to have children and give a broad suite of supports for people who do, but because that's the right thing to do, not as incentive

it's not nothing, but it's also not a significant enough factor to reduce emigration substantially or to raise the birthrate. and it's just distorting to so many conversations to act like most emigration is a tragedy driven by need. it isn't. most people who emigrate would do so regardless

Also the headline is the most nothing thing imaginable; "US had the lowest birthrate in 30 years, it would have been lower but some people had kids"
