Ask me about Hotel Del Luna, I want everyone to watch it. :)

I like cats, art, info about early years education and neurodivergence.

And Hotel Del Luna.

If I follow you I don't expect you do it back, don't feel like you have to. :)

i was fortunate enough to profile Margaret Hamilton in 2019. A really kind and curious person. This was my favorite story she told me:

“Ms. Hamilton, *who would bring her young daughter to work on weekends and evenings*, is credited with popularizing the term ‘software engineering’ to describe the complexity of the work her team did, thus elevating software coding to a status equal to hardware design.”🧪

Basically AI allows software engineers to produce shitty code *faster* and in higher volumes which increases the amount time spent on code reviews and revisions nullifying the productivity gained from producing the code in the first place.

For the past decade, schools have been told to focus on building pupils' resilience, but is this really the best approach to address problems with young people's mental health and attendance? @helen-amass.bsky.social asks the experts
The kids aren’t alright: is resilience to blame?
Schools are facing significant problems around pupils’ mental health and attendance, and political voices have pointed to a lack of resilience as the cause. But can interventions designed to boost this quality really help?

New research from RE-STAR highlights link between mainstream sch attendance & poor MH for autistic & ADHD students:

“There is nowhere that feels like a comfortable & safe place to unmask because you are always surrounded by people, so you have to mask all day, which is very tiring.”

(Pre-print)
New research: 22 autistic and ADHD teenagers describe masking all day at school and burnout that holidays don't fix. Their distress came from environments that didn't fit them. A small preprint, but worth your time: https://autisticgirlsnetwork.org/masking-burnout-school-research/

Remember: Wealth cannot be separated from power.

We're seeing in real time how the extreme concentration of wealth is distorting our politics, rigging markets, and granting unprecedented power to a handful of people.

Taxing the rich isn't just an economic issue, it's a defense of our democracy.

Absolutely believe this, if only as a consequence of the lack of third spaces, malls, walkable cities, etc.

(but also the impact of shorter attention spans, the internet, changing culture, etc.)
For years, we’ve been told that young adults are losing interest in romance. They’re dating less, drinking less, and supposedly abandoning sex altogether.

It's not that simple. Our survey finds Gen Z DOES want sex, it's just that it's gotten too complicated.
80% of Gen Z Report High Sex Drive. Why Aren't They Having It?
Playboy's Gen Z Sex Survey found that the sex recession isn't about a lack of desire, but outside factors stopping them from getting it on.

A lovely article on a phenomenal film that's been a constant source of inspiration throughout my entire life! ❤️ There's a loneliness that comes with working on an original project that's conveyed incredibly well here, as well as the importance of inspiration & education alongside the production.
Nick Park spent the '80s making A Grand Day Out mostly alone. It was a school project that got out of hand -- he wanted to quit many times.

But Park stuck with it and fulfilled his dream of bringing a cinematic feel to stop motion. We explore:
