I wrote my first webchat tool in, what, 1995 for UKOL.

And was an iRCop in 1996.

I also need to bmake some stickers: "Survivor of the Instant Messenger Wars: 1999-2001. Ready, AIM, fire!"

Try #picoclaw on a microvm environment in 1 minute:

$ git clone github.com/NetBSDfr/smo...
$ sudo apt install curl git bmake qemu-system-x86 sudo binutils libarchive-tools gdisk socat
$ cd smolBSD
$ ./docker2svc.sh dockerfiles/Dockerfile.clawd
$ ./startnb.sh -w /path/to/share -f etc/clawd.conf

Non-NetBSD/Linux users I have a gift for you, you can now taste the joy of microvm creation thanks to those pre-built smolBSD build images! github.com/NetBSDfr/smo...
bmake required, bmake ARCH={amd64,evbarm-aarch64} kernfetch fetchimg and you're set!
Yes I'm looking at you macos users.

🎉 smolBSD has now its SMOL NetBSD kernel for aarch64 too! 🎉

https://smolbsd.org/assets/netbsd-SMOL-aarch64.img is live for use with any arm64/aarch64 host, like RPi's, Orange Pi's or Apple's M[0-9]'s and it's FAST

git pull && bmake kernfetch and you're set!

J'ai ça:
➡️ using disk image images/[...]-aarch64.img
🔚 ^D [...] vm, ^A-X to kill it
qemu-system-aarch64: unable to find CPU model 'qemu64

Après le script ne me rend pas la main (comme avant), mais j'ai dans les process un "bmake SERVICE=clawd build"

On peut monter une session de debug si tu veux.

bmake just worked for me.

I expect the packaging will be a concern. Having a Wasm build would probably be higher priority than Win/Mac but I can try to help with GH actions for matrix testing.

ime rejecting is ok if there are error messages that include source offsets.

@stefano @nixCraft @imil

Here on Debian {in MX Linux} I had to add the following tools since the machine is not configured for programming

bmake

`apt install bmake`

bsdtar

`apt install libarchive-tools`

then success

>> log

# $ ./startnb.sh -f etc/sshd.conf
* using console: viocon

en fait il faudrait simplement que je trigger bmake fetchimg quand c'est autre chose que Linux ou NetBSD, c'est l'image de build

Added some basic package registration to teenylinux, and fixed the scripts to properly register themselves, iperf3 and bmake (forked to be "crappie") are new additions.

Yet to decide how and where to host these "embedded" packages. To differentiate from the lfs package tree in the future.

As you can see the build process is smooth, the execution is blazingly fast. What more could I ask for?

some poor soul patched bmake last week and triggered a rebuild of the entire darwin stdenv on unstable, i had to wait for the revert to land yesterday to update my flake. definitely made me question my choices. still mostly satisfied though.

Spent my summer working on a little app that acts like make but it does all the dumb stuff for me. You can find it at codeberg.org/Paperzlel/bm... . It's pretty neat.

If you're using the brand new aarch64 SMOL kernel, update it: bmake kernfetch

qemufwcfg support was added, i.e. support for variable and file passing from host to guest
August 19, 2026 at 6:30 AM
@stefano I've just added the boot time printing like in x86 SMOL kernels, could you try bmake kernfetch and tell me what's your kernel boot time? 😇
August 14, 2026 at 11:17 AM
@stefano same way that on x86:

from https://github.com/NetBSDfr/smolBSD

example:

bmake kernfetch
bmake SERVICE=rescue build
./startnb.sh -i images/rescue-evbarm-aarch64.img
