OK. It's nice to actually use my brain for something. But I still don't feel great. The whole thing not only broke my body but it broke me mentally so it's a slow recovery. I think it's helping that I'm working. I bet it'll be several more weeks before I can go back to the office.

While researchers still don't fully understand why certain body regions are more ticklish or why sensitivity varies so much between people, one thing is clear: your brain refuses to let you surprise yourself

Warmth can promote weight gain even when animals eat less. In animal experiments, the reduction in calories burned can exceed the drop in food intake. doi.org/hcmmkr
Warm temperatures curb appetite but can still promote weight gain, animal experiments find
Researchers at Pennington Biomedical Research Center have identified a key brain mechanism that connects environmental temperature with appetite and energy balance, offering new insight into how external conditions can shape body weight over time.

The thing about your brain is the more unprocessed grief and fear you have swimming around in there, the more DESPERATE your subconscious is to wake you up to reality

Egos trigger on current events but you're SAFE now.
The emotions are GHOSTS of old harms, ungrieved

Let fear INTO the body and CRY

“Seperate the art from the artist” has always been a nonsense concept even beyond the financial support aspect because you literally. Cannot. The art IS the artist. Their brain, their body, their life, it makes the art. When we create, we put ourself into our creations. There is no separating that.

The gym part of my brain is evil, I’ve decided. Like, going to the gym is good for me, something I enjoy, and maybe my favourite part of the day, but my body has no self-preservation instincts. I walked about 40km this weekend and, combined with overdoing it on my runs the past couple weeks,

but it's still technically his own soul/memories, so maybe he still can?! i figure it was just the way his brain developed tho, so if he's in a body that doesn't do that regularly... hmm

having to watch in real time as he takes the soldiers out, in a body that isn't his, and still remembering it...

I feel more equipped for it than ever considering I'm able to fall asleep without running any audio interference a lot more lately. I'm 4 months into really focusing on retraining my body/brain(with my propanelol) to stop pumping myself with adrenaline every day also.

I was shown John Carpenter's The Thing when I was like 10 and it permanently altered something in my brain. probably why I love body horror so much despite being unnerved by it easily.
It also gave me nightmares for a couple weeks and made me paranoid.

one of my favorite movies to this day.
Mine would be Clock Tower for the SNES, which I played at a frighteningly young age. I still find myself checking behind closed shower curtains to this day

Also, I'm sure that stalking and eviscerating schoolgirls in cute skirts had little to no effect on my emotional development
I can share one of my handfull of pre High School memories:

The aliens on Sesame Street.

The "meep meep meep UH HUUH, UH HUUH" ones.

Shut the fuck up their mouths were yawning chasm to the darkness between stars and they were ready to swallow you into their void I'M NOT CRAZY YOU'RE THE CRAZY ONE

Sundae, did you know that manta rays have the largest brain-to-body weight ratio of any living fish?

The bony-eared assfish has the smallest brain-to-body weight ratio of any living vertebrate. 🐟

If you do not schedule time for yourself, your body and brain may have to schedule it for you

🫂 Please take care of yourself! So many people are sick and/or burned out right now

Not sure why you're here, but hi. You can call me Mono for short.

I have a lot of stupid brain and body problems that will only be solved by completely impossible advances in technology - impossible in my lifetime, at least.

I made this account because I got tired of bothering my friends/partners.

A fascinating discussion with Professor Mark Edwards on the complex relationship between brain, mind and body, using FND as an example of why these cannot be understood in isolation.

Dr. Alexis Kennedy will speak to us about the brain-gut connection during First Tuesdays with HEART tomorrow. Discover why stress is felt in the body before it can be named, why recovery depends on nervous system flexibility rather than discipline, and practices that can help.

What the science of memory tells us about sexual assault cases
Amid accusations of rape at Cornell University, a growing body of research is challenging assumptions about how victims remember details of their assaults.

I confess to being a hard science fiction and classic literature audiobook junkie. Fiction only.
The narratives and social commentary engage my brain as my body walks, gardens, hikes, maintains my home, and drives. I have trouble sitting.

Theater is very different to TV. It is living magic.

It wasn't that I felt like I was inhabiting the wrong body- I was always in the right body through and through, but those specifically did not belong there and my brain never registered them as a real part of me.

I think a great example of the inherent neuropsychological disconnect between my brain and body pre-transition is that I haven't experienced a single moment of "phantom (insert body part here) post-top surgery. Not once

I mean, with any skill there's a point at which your brain and body have learned enough that you stop having to pay attention to the basics, which frees you up to explore things in detail. I love that you've reached this point, because thinking underwater is one of my favourite things. It's peaceful

"pickle butts" 🤣🏆

if I had spare brain cells, pickling is something I should probably learn to do, in case anything would happen to the one brand of pickles my body tolerates 😬 #MCAS
