Also visited my fave charity thrift shop in Leigh The British Heart Foundation, stopped by BookCycle to chat with Oliver (amazing volunteers there!), and headed to Tyldesley to see Jordan at JL Nails 💅

Hey Houston #booksky folks....do you know about the Bookcycle? It's a nonprofit bookstore where all the books are free. It's a dope concept.

Continue to share the love of reading by picking some books off and also donating some of your favorite books

So I popped into the local Bookcycle place, where you can buy three books a day, and you name the price. I gave ‘em a tenner for these.

The New York Trilogy by Paul Auster
The Running Sky by Tim Dee
Our Place by Mark Cocker

Always feels slightly awkward

That's pretty much how we did it. Family first, then friends from his model railway soc, then a dealer. Finally a book charity (Bookcycle in Devon).

I also set up a little free library in the porch whenever it was sunny, and put out modern/local books for people to take.

8/n The Women at Oxford: A Fragment of History by Vera Brittain.

Amusingly, someone had put cuttings of contemporary reviews in it for me to find. I agree with the one that disses it. It lacks rigour or narrative and reads like a 1950s listicle.

Back to the bookcycle shop with you!

I remember reading that trilogy back in the day. Will scour my local bookcycle and see if they have all 3.
