Currently devouring The Bookeaters 🧠📚 Anyone else read this? I’m loving it so far! It’s got #LGBT rep & paints a uniquely horrific picture of #motherhood. Highly recommend if you’re into dark, unsettling vibes! #horror #booksky #reading #QueerReads #DarkFantasy #BookRecommendations

I just killed a big, fat silverfish. FUUUUUUUUUUUCK! I hate these goddamn bookeaters.

One of the things that I love about living in a mixed-income, multicultural, artists-and-queer-friendly neighborhood is how much everyone looks after everyone, including businesses.

I know this is an old post - but I am most looking forward too Sunyi Dean's new book. Rarely a week goes past without 'the bookeaters' entering my mind.

So far, my top 5 books I've read this month (subject to change after I finish "Don't Fear the Reaper):

*Petrified Women
*The Bookeaters
*Ban This Book
*Blood Moon
*The Halloween Store and Other Tales of All Hallows Eve

the dark rise trilogy (book 1 and 2 are out) by C.S. Pacat
it's a queer YA fantasy

Summer Sons by Lee Mandelo is a queer southern gothic horror

The Bookeaters by Sunyi Dean is a queer dark fantasy

a dark and drowning tide by Allison Saft is a sapphic fantasy (romance is part of it but not focus)

🚨 What a great turnout for our accidental, impromptu 'Casual Discussion' on Twitch! 🎉 We discussed authors like Jeff Vandermeer (The Strange Bird), Sunyi Dean (The Bookeaters), and Aldous Huxley (Brave New World)! 📚

I don't know that I've read anything quite like it. But I've been reading Jeff VanderMeer lately and The Bookeaters feels so realistic by comparison, lol.

This poem by Carolina Hotchandani, from her collection The Bookeaters.
