Honestly, I’d read fantasy. You often can approach real world issues and have deep philosophical discussions in fantastical settings.

Quint from Jaws. That Indianapolis backstory is a whole novel waiting to happen. His telling of the story is what got me hooked on the craft and he brought those characters to life in just a few lines.
