I’ve been thinking a lot abt 📦 again lately because I’m preparing a public class that will bridge NYC’s libraries + archives, and will focus on “ things that don’t fit.” Among the guest speakers/field trips I’d love to organize is a virtuoso boxmaker / bespoke archival housing fabricator :)

This is the original version of the text scroller using the ultimate boxmaker script. I'm currently redesigning the case to be simpler to build and a bit nicer looking (I hope). Uses a QT Py ESP32-S2, an Adafruit IS31FL3741 13x9 RGB matrix, and a small piece of black LED acrylic for diffusion.

Because they gain power and stroke their egos by putting people into categories and boxes and placing themselves on the “good” side and the others on the “bad” side. They see LGBTQ people and assertive successful women as blurring those box lines and threatening the status and power of the boxmaker.

Since I had just made 5k (yes, that is how math works!), I immediately spent the money I had on this and started messing about with. It's a boxmaker plane from Veritas. I now had four planes that I wanted to keep within easy reach and was running out of shelf space.
