#bullish-case
Yeah, that pretty much sums up the bullish case for America.
American urban and transit policies are third-rate before most other developed countries, but culturally there's just no fucking comparison and victory goes to the country that's least maladjusted to the realities* of modernity.

TAPPER: Gas prices are high because the strait is closed. A month ago you said you were 'bullish that there's gonna be a heck of a lot of traffic moving through every day.' That is not the case

HASSETT: There is traffic moving

TAPPER: It's not 'a heck of a lot,' though

So like what is the bullish case for OpenAI or Anthropic if the basically free open source version of what they can make keeps getting better and better? Is it possible they still have some kind of edge that people pay for?

The case against bedwetting—or why Harris may be in a stronger position than it seems.
The Case Against Bedwetting
I'm a bit more bullish on Kamala Harris's chances of winning than polls and models suggest I should be. Here's why.

this is the main use case of crypto so should be bullish

one of the ADAs i talked to in another borough in NYC who originally was very bullish on a trump conviction but said jail time would depend on behavior & demeanor before/during/after trial text me today saying they've never seen a stronger case for jail time for a class E felony

The news cycle to close the week has been a damning federal case against Donald Trump, a bullish jobs report, and a dock worker strike resolved in three days with a White House win, but sure, the fucking hurricane is probably all her fault

stern wrote a piece a year ago saying it was a dud case but then did a mea culpa a few weeks ago. i caught some of his podcast where he interviewed one of their reporters - stahl- who was always bullish on the case and asked what he saw in the case.

Also with the East-West Pipeline down and Chinese demand seemingly coming back into the market, I am not sure that Brent is gonna stay around 105. Not hard to make the bullish case (but honestly who the hell knows?)

MELIUS: ".. When we turned bullish on the US airline setup in Oct, our thesis was a simple one: the airlines’ path forward to higher margins was through capacity constraint and higher fares. .. and now there is real risk that may not be the case.

Pains me to say this, but bullish for bitcoin. We've finally found a use case. Seems appropriate that its an insanely carbon-intensive payments system.

Speaking of which, here's Marc and one of his partners talking up the idea of having kids "pop a Zyn and work at the factory all day" in case you're wondering what he thinks of the common people.

Analysts estimate humanoid robots might be a $5–$50B market this decade. EVs? $1–$2T. Pivoting from EVs to robots is a huge step down.

Tesla as the Android/PC of EVs made sense. Losing to BYD and betting on home robots doesn’t. Only bullish case left is xAI builds AGI and Tesla buys it.

Good luck

Investors have consistently and systematically been wrong in bullish directions under this administration by expecting TACO and ignoring the systematic effects of his erratic, cult-of-personality policy making. In this case, the long tail of disrupting oil and shipping for weeks is missing.
Investors still think its going to be a short war.

This is perfectly put on the consensus view. That Trump will TACO because of oil prices shooting up and not wanting to lose midterms.

Tbh the bullish case for Burnham is that his Chief of Staff is reportedly going to be Kate Green, an ex MP who actually managed policy areas in the Greater Manchester Authority, as opposed McSweeney whose accomplishments were all just factional score settling

It’s funny, the (excellent) story actually makes a more bullish case for the Dems’ chances than this quote would suggest.
NEW: Graham Platner formally filed papers to withdraw from the Maine Senate race today. Now begins the mad dash to replace him.
"Is it a slam dunk? No. Is it a foul shot? No,” One Maine Democrat told me. “I think it’s two steps beyond the top of the key."

Graham Platner officially drops out of Maine Senate challenge of Susan Collins
Democrats feel like they have a better shot now that Platner is out of the picture, Eric Garcia writes. But it’s far from a slam dunk

Beshear has also been one of the best Dems at articulating the case against charter schools/vouchers. I'm not super bullish on Beshear 2028 but he'd be a great secretary of education
