Thor's Well, a natural basalt sinkhole located on the rugged coast of Oregon near Yachats. Water from the churning ocean waves cascades over the rocky, barnacle-covered edge and pours directly into the deep, dark bowl, creating a dramatic, waterfall-like effect within the stone. In the background, white-capped ocean waves break against the shore under a mostly clear, blue sky. The surrounding foreground features rough, dark volcanic rock formations with small pools of water trapped in the crevices.

Took a visit to the #oregoncoast today and hiked #AmandasTrail at #CapePerpetua as well as checking out the lookout shelter.

a stunning coastal view from within the West Shelter observation point at Cape Perpetua, Oregon; framed by the rustic stone archway and low stone wall built by the Civilian Conservation Corps in the 1930s. Beyond the shelter, a dense, dark green forest covers the steep hillside that slopes dramatically down to the rugged Pacific coastline. The blue ocean stretches out to the horizon under a partly cloudy sky, offering a view that can extend up to 70 miles on a clear day.
