Two tickets for reckless driving and speeding tickets for 90 in a 55 and 90 in a 45 should result in you never driving a car again. Instead we let him kill two people
This is embarrassing

There's nothing like the freedom of the automobile
Downtown Boston is gridlocked right now because someone decided to leave their car double parked...

Why didn't we hear more about this horrific crash? #CarsAreWeapons

To address safety issues (bc of drivers) my kids’ school recently changed the pick up process to get rid of the car pick up line entirely.

Caregivers have to park nearby & walk up to the blacktop to get their kids.

It’s calmer, safer, and bikes can still roll right up onto the blacktop.

“Car owners are the most abused constituency in Cambridge.”

Now is certainly a moment in time to label yourself ‘most abused’ because resident parking is going up to $75 per year.

I am behind on adding to this (as I’ve reported this sign being hit at least twice since this post 4 months ago), but this one is extra impressive.

A driver seems to have fully smashed the sign (& left some car pieces left behind) and the median sign ended up left/placed partway down the block.

I have low standards for driver behavior, but even I wouldn't have guessed people would be so willing to drive their cars up on a sidewalk level bike lane, at full street speed, past pedestrians using the sidewalk as intended.

"Driver kills toddler"- fixed it for you - #CarsAreWeapons #WarOnPedestrians
“Toddler dead after pedestrian collision” is some nasty headline work

A person driving a jeep hit and killed a toddler in a stroller in a marked crossing and they are calling it a “pedestrian collision”
Road violence is a political choice. How much carnage will our leaders tolerate before they take drastic action? www.cbc.ca/news/canada/...

Driver cuts off an ebike, then hits the accelerator instead of the brake and kills a 4 year old on the sidewalk. And this is a quote NBC prints:

"Those e-bikes are out of control"

@thewaroncars.bsky.social @americanfietser.bsky.social How on earth is the e-bike responsible if the car plowed onto the sidewalk and into children?

“The researchers describe the bicycle as a kind of “lifestyle companion” for older adults—a tool that keeps them physically active, mentally sharp, socially connected, & confidently mobile. That combination appears to delay the need for long-term care, preserve independence,& ultimately extend life”

I rode my bike home from a friend’s house at 10pm last night. When I was waiting to cross Hiawatha at 38th, SIX drivers ran the red light.

One of them did so at what looked like 60+mph and very nearly crashed with a driver turning on a green.

I looked around to see if any…

Car culture routinely says to pedestrians to "make themselves seen", but then goes around doing irresponsible and reckless shit like this.

The most car culture story of the week is this KSTP report about a gas station subscription with footage of drivers waiting in line for gas in the bike lane.

Media & police commonly report that “speed wasn’t a factor in a crash.” What they mean is the driver wasn’t technically breaking the speed limit, or at least not too much.

But speed is ALWAYS a factor, in how much distance is needed to stop, how well crash victims can be seen, and whether they die.

Petition for all Minneapolis streets to have a 20 mile per hour speed limit because apparently even 25 mph is too much for some of y’all to handle? Jeepers.

Nothing like waiting at the bus stop with your kids while a flatbed truck blasts through a stop sign 4 feet away, going 10 mph over, then can’t even make the turn and has to back up in the intersection.

Yep, feels super safe for families. Totally fine. 🙄🚚 #SafeStreets #VisionZero

“After the 15th Street bike-lanes were constructed, bicycle injury crashes decreased by 91%.” So of course some irresponsible and moronic decision-makers are intending to tear them out for ideological reasons. They’ll have injuries and deaths on their hands. www.washingtonpost.com/dc-md-va/202...
