Not every street should allow cars - not just because of the threat of terrorism, or bad/reckless driving, but because cars are unpleasant to be around. People deserve places that are not ruined by cars.

4 mile commute to work: 1 driver blocking crosswalk at Grand & Victoria, 1 driver pulled out in front of me from behind stop sign on Griggs & Hague, and 1 driver just didn't see me & failed to yield at traffic circle at Griggs & Sherburne. If I hadn't sped up, I'd've been on their hood. #CarsSuck

Being loud has its advantages. On my commute a lady was barely missed in our bright green bike lanes because a man in a Performance Integrations Systems van, decided to take a right. Luckily I screamed as he was driving in to her and he swerved back. Then he told me to buy a car.

On today’s commute, I had two meaningful conversations with other people biking, both ending in a fist bump.
I was able to feel the air blow around my face whipping my hair.
I felt the adrenaline and caffeine mix as I darted over the bridge into downtown.
You can’t do that in a car.

I dislike cars and driving unless they're French (or possibly Italian, if they're compact and bijou). Even then, I only enjoy driving when I am going nowhere in particular.

Since my community is designed to be car dependent, I have to have these machines.
Today I am waiting at DMV. What a waste of time. I can’t help but notice there’s enough people here spending $$$ to throw a kickin party. Instead we wait in a line angry at being here together.
