years ago my sister sent me this improvised a capella song about butts via facebook messenger (we've been exchanging puerile songs since childhood) so i made a quick casiocore prog rock tune out of it.

shared this years ago on the birdsite but my sis requested a repost so here ya go.

i wanna do a shitty casiocore jazz organ album and it needs a cute vintage cover i think
I'm amazed how little i know how to use on this keyboard in terms of features, played a bit with the auto-harmony presets here (apparently different from the arrangement settings)

New song out today: "Little Diorama"

A lo-fi bedroom pop / casiocore bossa nova kind of song about being inside.

Part of @novatone.bsky.social's Orbit 32: Lo-Fi Vol. 2 compilation.

This my new aesthetic

IDK if there's a name for this early 00s DIY aesthetic but it has a certain charm to it.

I propose "Casiocore", which I know is kind of a sub-genre of music already, but to me it fits the same homemade vibe.

If anyone else has other examples of this, let me know!

I think of it as “collagecore”, but “casiocore” has its own charm

I had a go at helping someone fix a Casio MT40 by trying to identify the major sections of its circuits. Amazing how this little circuit board kick started the electronic Reggae revolution!

To understand the fusion of what's going on with Lulo, achieving a similar thing in England, we'd need to combine regency era country dance with casiocore electronica and have everyone doing at the club

The funny thing about that song to me is that it was used on the previous version of Ishkur’s Guide to Electronic Music under Casiocore but they referred to it as “does it really matter what song it is?”

one of the things that was catalogued within was this genre "casiocore" and in the examples linked was a cover of a misfits song that i think about once a week

Honestly it was another kind of silly thing I shouldn't have bought really
I actually learned how to use it and I made some songs with it but they were like really terrible Casiocore stuff
There are better ways to go dawless 🤣
