3) Mixing the mortar out of 1:1:3 putty, chamotte, and sand. We recorded its volume after mixing and 45 minutes later. Ours lost drastically less water than Mártinez et al.’s sample, this be might because of the less pozzolanic chamotte fired with modern technology. Our results might be worse.

Oh no. I’ve discovered that the Swedish ceramicist Lisa Larson (who I love) designed a little GHOST MOUSE (Spökmus)
Lisa Larson designed the Menagerie series in 1965 for the Gustavsberg factory. The Menagerie objects are made of chamotte stoneware decorated in part with glaze in subtle colours. Pictured here is a suspicious mouse and I WANT IT.

An absolutely brilliant week end, spent with my hands in black chamotte sandstone. I didn’t really exactly what I wanted to do, I just let my mind wander and a deer appeard. Then a creature, half hare, half imaginary joined them.

It's 150 year old; the exterior of both the dome and the bakehouse itself are slate, the inside of the dome and the floor are some kind of hard brick (not chamotte).

This is my favorite clay and glaze combo right now, and one of the few designs I'm genuinely happy with, as some of you may already know.

The light chamotte in this clay gives it a texture on the exterior that I really love.
