This is the first plate I'm sharing here.

It took me quite a while to figure out a small plate design (diameter about 15cm) I liked and that felt right. I tried quite a few different methods until I found one where I actually enjoy not only the process but the result.

This might be the cleanest rim I've ever achieved.

"Sea Drift" is another of my own formulated glazes, and its effects are even more beautiful when applied thick, as is the case here. But that comes with drips, something I really don't like the look of in ceramics...

This is my favorite clay and glaze combo right now, and one of the few designs I'm genuinely happy with, as some of you may already know.

The light chamotte in this clay gives it a texture on the exterior that I really love.

Here's Sea Drift, another one of my own formulated glazes.

This one used to be one of my favorite vases. Used to, because I tried firing it a second time, which didn't end up going well.

It's often quite a gamble trying new things on pieces I like, but I try to never settle for "good enough."

This is an appreciation post for my parents, who have to deal with boxes like these lying around in their garage, where my kiln lives.
I'm more confident leaving stuff like this on the floor of their garage than properly arranged on my own shelves. That's how clumsy I am, and how careful they are.

This is a rare occurrence: a piece I'm genuinely happy with, even proud of.

I think it's that rare mix of enjoying the process, hitting zero frustration along the way, and probably not having too high expectations, since this bowl was more of an experiment.

Sometimes I like to make sure certain pieces are fully "bone dry" before firing, and the easiest way is often to just let them bask in the sun for a while.

A few days ago, I found some recycled clay lying in a bag. Not really sure where it's from, but I split it in four and decided to just have fun.
