When are we going to acknowledge that "video podcasts" are just low-budget tv chatshows? It's sad that "audio-only" podcasts seem to be going out of fashion - good ones are qualitatively different to visual media, not an inferior version of it. But it's weird that video podcasts are seen as novel.

The credibility of ReformUk is diminishing gradually day by day. But until it is totally eradicated, Britain needs to be aware in the rise of right wing rhetoric & where it comes from. We see it in the newspapers, In the mainstream news, On the radio chatshows as well as on TV.
WAKE UP PEOPLE.

Tbh, if I were American President, I'd demand the 5000 broadly identical and mildly crap late night chatshows were all cancelled as well.

'The Internet' does have a habit of taking all the fun out of things. I want my celebs to be able to say 'slightly misjudged but in the grand scheme of things not really that big a deal' stuff.
Hell I miss the days of weird celebs arriving coked up or drunk out of their gourd on afternoon chatshows.
If I was a high-profile actor promoting a movie now, I'd just trot out some mildly amusing set anecdotes and say "When I read the script, the character was just so rich" and leave it at that, rather than risk becoming the internet's main character for two days.

Yet they don't want Radio 2 and are baffled and too old for Radio 1 where there's a chart rundown, but they're not in the mood for a Friday afternoon chart rundown. They don't have TOTP but won't watch Later or Light Ent or chatshows or The Big Weekend.

Oversaw warcrimes and actively participated in democide? We'll make you a talking head on chatshows for literal years.

Your partner makes adult content on a platform you'd have to actively seek out and pay for with money and is completely unrelated to your profession. GET THE SACK.

It's funny to be reminded, because over here our TV-chatshows (late night) were called Svisj. Only two consonants away.

Yep. It's the fatal contradiction of chatshows.

Can we go the other way and invent "chatshows" where people livestream having conversations with interesting guests in some kind of preprepared environment?

Thing is, that US style of talk show doesn't really work here for whatever reason. Plenty have tried. The story itself mentions Mrs Merton, and how it was a "radical take", which should be a clue suggesting that it's generally the format, not the front person, that's the issue here.

Still better than the sewage programming of some twatty presenter bringing in people to bully them type chatshows as a poor version of Dr. shitface.

I have said this before but I feel more normal GCs treat him like a dancing bear. He is not a well man. Its a bit like when they'd get Pliver Reed or George Best on chatshows
