Replacing a saddle clamp on a chlorinator hose. Was pushing the hose back onto the bib, hand slipped and slammed into the stainless steel belt (think of a pants belt with the excess hanging free) holding the bib in place. Belt scooped up the skin of my middle finger joint.

so what happened:
I left the chlorinator off by accident for a couple days, pool turned slightly green, I turned it back on
shocked the pool, it turned substantially more green, and stayed that way
i put a clarifier in it, it was clear again in 6 hours.
backwashed filter and now its good.

Not disagreeing, but we need language to discuss clusters of atoms and states (i.e. information) that have some degree of agency. I don't like "bits on disk" because some bits aren't on disk; they are whether the chlorinator at my local water plant is running or not.

Yeah, the salt is also why the frame is rusting so quickly. Salt systems are great at consistently producing chlorine, but it is corrosive so everything needs to be aluminum or thing disintegrate in a few years. It's also more expensive than just using a tab chlorinator if you're under 25k gallons.

#Enshittification I'm not an HVAC guy, I'm a Cybersecurity expert. $5,000 for a new interior evaporator core - my contractor 1) undersized heating coils, 2) didn't replace filter pedestal, 3) no condensate clean-out/chlorinator and i suspect didn't program the variable speed, leaving it 300CFM short
