Thrilled to share that my postdoc research is published today in @science.org! We found that DNA repair uses cohesin complexes to build new chromatin loops that guide the homology search and boost accurate repair! 1/n

Histone-mediated chromatin organization in prokaryotes and viruses
Histones are fundamental chromatin-organizing proteins in eukaryotes and archaea, where they assemble into (hyper)nucleosomes that wrap DNA. Recent studies have expanded the known repertoire of histon...

Very excited to share our new Nature study!
We discovered that replication stress stabilizes CTCF-dependent chromatin loops enclosing stressed nascent DNA, where G9a-mediated heterochromatin protects it from nucleolytic degradation. rdcu.be/frzLg

Huge thanks to all our collaborators and co-authors!

New preprint from our lab! An H3.3 knockout does two things at once: it removes H3.3 from chromatin and destabilizes DAXX. We disentangle those functions and find that DAXX-mediated H3.3 deposition can be uncoupled from ERV silencing.

Enhancers mediate euchromatin hopping at chromatin contact points
Enhancer-mediated gene activation involves the recruitment of chromatin modifiers and RNA polymerase to target promoters, but it is unknown if enhancers influence chromatin beyond their target genes. ...
