This is well and good except for one thing. The CJCS doesn't control a single operation military member. He couldn't order service members to the polls if he wanted to, or stop them from being ordered by their operational commanders. The NORTHCOM CG is who has that authority in the CONUS.

Assuming, for the sake of argument, that "Pete Hegseth's Pentagon" was ever actually *on* the rails, then it certainly lurched "off the rails" 18 months ago, when he fired CJCS Charles Q. Brown Jr. and CNO Lisa Franchetti (along with other senior officers) on the same day: February 21st, 2025...
