A bit late for #FindsFriday - I’m on holiday in Crete - here’s a stunning gold necklace from a wealthy woman’s tomb in Vakiatos, Crete, Hellenistic 3rd-2nd C BC. Three ceramic heads from figurines were found with this lovely piece.

Did the Aeneid exist in some form prior to Virgil's composition of the epic?

UndercoverClassicist's comment on "Did the Aeneid exist in some form prior to Virgil's composition of the epic? Like an oral tradition as the Iliad/Odyssey were? Or was the majority a fabrication by him?"

I love how there's always ridiculous stories about the writers of Classical Greece. The writers become their own myths. When I die please send me to a bunch of Dolphins.
