Today's the feast of St Charles Borromeo, 16th Century Archbishop of Milan and leading figure in the counter-Reformation. He stands right with St Francis left flanking Christ carrying his cross on a portable altar piece at Ketton, Rutland. A CofE church, so perhaps a souvenir bought back from Italy?

And before anyone suggests these are just extreme Christian churches, they included Anglican (Church of England), Methodist, and Baptist Churches.
My own local CofE church does not allow Halloween decorations at children's parties in the church hall.
It's not a fringe view!

Kinda interesting being at a CofE school because they’ll ask parents if we’re fine with kids celebrating Halloween and we’re like “yes Halloween is great but we don’t do Harry Potter in our house and that’s a firm rule”

Agreed. I don’t think it’s working well in Alan’s case. If he intended to coerce £ from a vulnerable victim, the police need to be involved, not months of CofE contemplation first. If he was guilty of (serial?) abuse, they are giving him the opportunity to abscond, destroy evidence, etc. #TheArchers

Yeah I know. Some CofE schools put on Halloween discos but my school was against it. I could never understand why church schools banned Harry Potter.

I would expect she does as well as the strangely silent parochial church council especially the PCC secretary. However I have my doubts that #thearchers SW are familiar with what is pretty basic stuff about how CofE works at parish level. We have a lot of friends in the 'trade' as it were.

Been at farewell service from full time ministry of a dear priest friend and his wife, herself a LLM. It was humbling and moving to get a small flavour of what their ministry over many years and situations has meant. It was good to celebrate and bless them on their way to who knows what! #cofe
