I left the Luffy makeup on for my entire shift (10.5 hours) and then for a couple more hours for trick or treaters.

I uh. Chemical burned part of his scar into my cheek. Oops.

Use moisturizer for several days before using rigid collodion kids. Don't be me

Hawarden made albumen prints from wet-collodion negatives. Introduced in 1851, wet-collodion negatives were widely used since the exposure time was relatively short...

Don't know if this qualifies as a film stock, but I'd love to try my hands on wet plate collodion photography. It's so beautiful.

We did it like they did too with old school makeup techniques of built up cotton, collodion, and grease paint, and stage yak hair.

Aw well, never quite believed in the ears burning thing anyways.

Not bad here thank you. Still down the collodion rabbit hole in Wonderland.💙

“When I was shooting with collodion, I wasn't just snapping a picture. I was fashioning, with fetishistic ceremony, an object whose ragged black edges gave it the appearance of having been torn from time itself.”

Daguerreotypes are really so different from any other photographic form, they're so intimate because you have to be looking at it closely and straight on to see the image at all, so you really have to pay your full attention. They're so rich and detailed. I love my collodion positives but 💖💖💖

Daguerreotypes are VERY hard to find in the UK. Every "daguerreotype" I've found in shops has turned out to be a mislabelled collodion positive, or a cased tintype, or once not even a photograph at all but a copper engraving which, while lovely, was not a daguerreotype.

We’re crowdfunding the publication of a gorgeous new book to mark our time at Boughton. ‘A Portrait of Greenbelt’ brings together @paulchambers collodion wet plate photos and Pádraig Ó Tuama’s poetry and prayers, both inspired by our festival. Enjoy a handful of the portraits of Greenbelters...

Antiques dealers often see a cased photograph and assume that it must be a daguerreotype, when collodion positives and tintypes were often cased in the exact same way! They then try to charge daguerreotype prices for the photograph. It's not malice, just a lack of knowledge.
