... But over the last few months, the compartmentalization and coping stopped working to silence my conscience."

Yeah, and you know what? It was absolute bliss. Bliss. Actual physical compartmentalization. We had it all.

There's normal, everyday compartmentalization, then there's cartoonists writing story elements they despise drawing compartmentalization.

I call it reality compartmentalization, but you can call it whatever you like
how the fuck am I supposed to toggle between "TABS I NEED FOR WORK---KANSAS ASSISTANT BASKETBALL COACH SALARIES--" and "THIS WEIRDO SEX CULT CONTROLS THE MOST IMPORTANT INDUSTRY IN THE WORLD AND MIGHT KILL US ALL".

There should be several - they screwed up the compartmentalization when they were scrubbing them for Trump’s name, so a bunch of people who shouldn’t have had access were able to see all of them.

There are plenty in other nations, as well.

I’m really surprised we haven’t seen more leaks.

Somewhat in the vein of "adaptable" but compartmentalization/cognitive dissonance. The things humans can believe simultaneously without any internal conflict....

Let yourself hope. Not in some touchy feely, abstract, warm & fuzzy way. Let your hope be gritty & realistic. Let it not have to f*ck w/ denial or compartmentalization.

Trauma recovery is a dark ride-- but the hope that fuels it truly is grounded in science & experience.

the world is coming apart at the seams and we all have to show up for work and pretend like it isn’t and that compartmentalization is driving us all loopy

There is no compartmentalization of the abuse of power.

Abusers are abusers across all facets of their lives.
Intimate partner violence and sexual assault usually co-occur.

In fact, men who hurt their significant others are among the most likely to commit *all* kinds of violence.

The idea that men can mistreat women in private and be trusted in public is absurd.
