Need to look good in the game. I’m okay with a loss but need to be a competitive game. Can’t be blown out or never have any risk. A game like 2013 is okay. Then gotta win the rest.

And also, at the risk of hopeskewing these polls, Kansas is tied. But how do you model the electorate where there hasn’t been a competitive statewide race in decades? Could cut any way but easy to imagine missing dem energy in a place where the old models bake in so many red voters.
The NYT dropped 5 major Senate polls this morning — and they tell you exactly why the GOP is freaking out about the Senate.

Alaska: Peltola up 50/43
Texas: Talarico up 51/45
Ohio: Brown up 49/46
Kansas: a 45/45 tie
Iowa: Hinson up 48/47.

One of the understated reasons for rising bond yields is the surge in equities, and no one wants bonds, which need higher returns to be competitive.

When bonds go down, yields go up.

It's not just sovereign risk.

As reported in local NC newspapers. The GOP candidate for senate has lost the confidence of the big money. Roy Cooper, former democratic governor of NC is in a good position, but he is still campaigning like it's competitive, because Cooper understands the importance of coattails.

Nothing about the company has changed in that example; only the price of time has. Higher yields also make bonds a more competitive alternative that carries no equity risk, which can draw demand away from stocks. Energy hits the other side of the equation.

Prevalence of US owners in PL might be a complicating factor here - not sure they fully grasp the value of a league being competitive. If they grant Man City leniency dozens of clubs risk a rupture with their own supporters. Either they kill the poison quickly or they'll kill the golden goose slowly
